The Agapanthus Thief

The house next door to Simon's brother's place has been unoccupied for years. Every New Year (or thereabouts) Jon jumps the fence, steals half a dozen agapanthus stems from the garden and brings them back for Rosy. It is one of those charming and romantic traditions that couples create for themselves.

It is really a nice thing to create your own traditions. In this case the Agapanthus fits the bill; they're beautiful. So is this Chinese vase. Love the shape.

We noticed that they are very much a wild flower in Tasmania. They were everywhere... Very nice flowers we grow them here also.

I had them down the side of my house in Australia, but they are not native, so not 'wild'. They are garden escapees if you saw them in the wild.

It is a lovely lamp base, isn't it?! I don't know where they got it.

They seem to be a little late opening up this year. Lovely post Susan. Thanks for helping us remember such special moments.

I'm glad you liked it. This photo was taken in early January, so the aggies have some time yet to flower.
