Rebranded Grocery Store

The other day I noticed that one of the little grocery stores in Preuilly has been rebranded. It used to be a Vival. Now it is an Epi-Service.

The new name is a play on words. The French word for grocery store is épicerie.

The shop offers the following: groceries; regional products; pre-cut blocks of cheese (as opposed to whole cheeses); they take bank cards and make home deliveries.
Epi-Service is a chain of independent small supermarkets supplied by Degrenne Distribution, who also supply CocciMarket. They supply these corner stores and mini-supermarkets with fresh and frozen produce, dairy products, grocery lines, cured meats, drinks and household cleaning items under their brand Belle France. They are based in the north-west and we are about as far south as they come.

Aha.... Proolie has an Epi-Centre, too!!
Our Spar re-opened as one when it changed hands in May...
and it has regenerated the shopping experience...
even if she isn't stocking the La Borde Cru anymore!!

We call it the Epi-centre. Since the transfer from Spar, ours has introduced a small range of Bio products and increased its range of local products, while retaining the home delivery service that is the vital point of contact with the rest of the human race for so many frail people, along with La Poste. The proprietor's a local lady too. P.
