Mobile Bottling

When we visited Domaine Joël Delaunay at Pouillé with Jean-Louis and Suzanne in July this mobile bottling rig was parked outside the chai (where the wine is actually made). The winemakers around here are almost all small to medium sized and hire all sorts of equipment for a few days of intensive use rather than invest in machinery that sits idle most of the time.

This sort of operation would be superb for many of the smaller micro-breweries in the UK!

Tim: yes, it's a good idea.

Goodness, I had no idea they existed. I'd love to see a photo of it when it's closed up as well.

Fraussie: Sorry I don't have a photo of one closed up. I just missed them yesterday at Domaine de la Chaise -- it was a shame, because I could have got one then.
