These Small Copper butterflies / Lycaena phlaeas /Cuivré commun happily sit in the sun to have their photos taken. I have lots of nice photos of Small Coppers looking charming, pretty and in focus.
I have no photos of Violet Fritillaries / Clossiana dia / la Petite violette though. Similarly coloured in fauve avec les taches noires, they come flitting and flapping into the potager going 'nah nah nahnahnah...I know your camera is out of reach...you'll never catch me...' Every time!
