Walking down Grand Rue we were amazed to see that in the short time we had been away, the old Horlogerie-Bijouterie (which has been shut ever since we started coming to Preuilly and used to look like this);

Many of the other houses in town are likewise showing new double glazed windows (just in time, because as I write this the temperature is -11), restored facades and stone walls. This is making the town look quite spruce.
Not only houses are being worked on though - the Maison de Retraite is having an extension built, which necessitates them having a large crane towering over town.
