Thorny Devil

A Thorny Devil Moloch horridus on the side of the road in the Northern Territory. These lizards are extremely slow moving and seemingly unperturbed by being handled. If you pick them up by the tail they remain rigid. If an ant walks by the lizard's tongue will dart out and catch it -- that's the only part of their body that moves with speed, and any ant within reach is a goner.
