Lovely Views Through Old Windows

These lovely old windows at the château of Azay-le-Rideau, with their tiny panes and distorting imperfections in the glass, provide a charming view of the outside world.

Not so old I think - part of the late 19th century 'restoration'.

Maybe part of restoration but they are wonderful photographs. Diane

Henri P: yes, we suspected 19th C romantic embellishment (particularly the top one). They are well done and the glass is old enough to be full of the lovely undulations and marks that make looking out the window quite fun.

Wonderful images, particularly the one with the portraits. Also like the variation in the panes of the "plain" windows.

Well, as artists say, you'll find a sculpture really beautiful when you see mosses and marks of its age around it. The same can be said with these windows panes, the color and cracks tell it all.
