You know how it is: sometimes you want something just because.
This coffee maker is one of those things. It won't fit into our planned new kitchen, it's extremely noisy, but what a piece of work! The photo was taken at l'Estaminet, Beaulieu lès Loches. I can't believe we haven't posted a photo of the restaurant on this blog, but if we have I can't find it.
We have eaten here a couple of times, most recently with Ken and chm, and before that with Jocelyn and Andrew, and Pat and Geoff before that. The food is inexpensive, unpretentious and tasty, and the ambience is slightly upmarket country café.

What a beauty, I am sure you could make some outstanding coffee with that little gem....do you still have the huge coffee grinder from Susan's house ?
Speaking of Very Good Grub, I really enjoyed the lentil dish I had at the "truck stop" for lunch, I have finally managed to get my hands on some French Lentils and was wondering if you could email a few likely recipes, if you have any.
Hope you are not too cold yet.
I have just found your 'useful links' page. Thanks for taking the time to provide the information. We have found out so much about the local area from reading your blog over the past 18 months, which has helped us come to know the area we have chosen to retire to.
I've now had chance to click on all of the links, and found it even more helpful and informative than I had first realised. Merci beaucoup!
England v Australia this afternoon; as I'm Welsh I'll be cheering on the Aussies (much to the disgust of my husband who is English, and my kids who consider themselves to be English).
Should have kept my mouth shut!
Simon.... you could construct a special coffee brewing room, just the other side of the Apero Terrace, when you convert that bit... it would give you the excuse to get one [or similar lower decibel model.... but that would probably spoil the effect!] I can just hear people asking for coffee just to see it working!
