Man Imitates Nature

Taken in mid October by Simon, I like the way the sunlight on the electrical wires makes them resemble a gigantic spider's web. It's even more apt as this is the season we get lots of picturesque dew laden real spider webs in gardens and fields.

A la cuisine hier: The walnut crop has been shelled, netting 400 g of nuts. There weren't very many complete duds but only about 50% of the nuts are in really top quality condition. There was very little insect damage, but a lot of half withered nuts and water damage.

Correction to your post
"as this is the season we" NORMALLY "get lots of picturesque dew laden real spider webs..."
I took two hours yesterday afternoon to extract one three metre row of Charlotte spuds from the ground...
I wasn't digging them as such...
I couldn't...
it took twenty minutes to get the tools clean!

I may go over to Descartes later...
we need dried fruit for cakes...
do you want me to look for a net of Stutgarter or Sturon or other real onions?

Tim: yes please to the onions. I still have a bit of bed prepared for onions.

OK, I'll keep my eyes open...
but have you got enough water-wings for them??

Small (250gms] net of Stuttgarter pro-cure-ed!

Tim: Marvie. I'll be over at some stage to collect. Very many thanks.
