Market days in Preuilly are Thursdays and Saturdays. The market is held in Place des Halles in the morning.

On Saturday nights there is a pizza van in Place des Halles.

Wildflowers to look out for in September: Squirting Cucumbers (be careful - they sting); ripe blackberries; several species of heather on the forest edges

Wildlife to look out for in September: really big hoverflies like Milesia crabriformis (rather uncommon, looks like a hornet) and big fat beeflies like Villa hottentotta; Convolvulus Hawkmoth (stunning in grey and pink).

Also worth looking out for in September: carpets of cyclamen under the trees in châteaux grounds.

This month, most of the supermarchés have their wine festivals, and the bernache comes in.

It makes no difference when we are chez nous, the minute we come back to England things around Le Grand-Pressigny start to get really exciting.
