The Pseudo-Steves Do Their Thing in 2019

Photograph Susan Walter. Tour the Loire Valley with a classic car and a private guide.

Regular readers will know the back story to the pseudo-Steves, who are the Siberian Irises in our garden. These photos were taken on the last day of May. They are flowering well this year, but the flowers seem small, and I think they are not going to have a long season. I blame the heat and the dry. Last year they were stupendous.

The weather seems to be stranger every year. Now in June, and I am walking around in a jersey complaining that I am still cold!! Have a good weekend. Diane P.S. did you get my email re the fritillary butterfly?

This is not the first year we've lived here that the weather has been cold in early June. I've responded to your email now.

We've had both. Today is cold and might rain, but last weekend the temperature was in the 30sC. Not enough rain. Yesterday we were walloped by Miguel with trees down all over the place and lots of tree debris in the streets today.
