A Wired Tree

I have no idea what this is about - I noticed this tree (in the grounds of Chateau Cheverny) in September, but couldn't work out what the wire was for, where it went, or what it was feeding. It may even be that what you see is all there is, which adds to the mystery.

Fil alimentant haut parleur, éclairage ? pris dans le platane au cours de sa croissance ?...

There was a sound artist who once wired up some trees at the Garden Museum in London so that you could listen to the sound of the trees drawing up water and various other functions. Might this be a relic of some similar installation?

Oui, je crois que c'est le plus probable.

It's a thought. I wouldn't put it past the management at Cheverny to do something like this.
