This family of Tawny Frogmouths Podargus strigoides are hanging out in the Jacaranda tree in front of my parents' house in Australia. For decades a pair of these distinctive nocturnal birds has nested in my parents' garden or nearby. My sister, who lives a thousand kilometres further south, also has them nesting in the bushland at the back of her garden. These photos were taken more than a decade ago.
