Betony-leaved Rampion

Photograph Susan Walter. Tour the Loire Valley with a classic car and a private guide.

Betony-leaved Rampion Phyteuma betonicifolia is a properly Alpine plant. I photographed this one at nearly 2000 metres in Switzerland. The two flies are some sort of Muscidae, probably House Fly Musca domestica, associated with the nearby piggery. Both are female.
