A Short Walk From Le Grand Pressigny

Several of our walking companions have started a new walking group on Mondays, to cater for those who want to do shorter walks of 5 - 6 kilometres. This is proving very popular and we will be joining them, in addition to our regular longer 10 - 12 kilometres with the national walking association on Thursdays. Here are some pictures from our first short walk.

Situated on the outskirts of the village, on the back road to La Celle Guenand, this little troglodyte hamlet is called Les Roches. There are houses set into the cliff, storage spaces and an underground quarry.

It seems to have been a good year for this early flowering woodland plant. It's made the transition into people's gardens too, and is much admired by my walking companions when we encounter it in the wild.

What a lovely walk ! We haven't been out in almost 3 weeks due to the incessant rain and wind. Starting to get a bit depressing,,,,

Yes, we haven't been out for two weeks. All the fields along the rivers are lakes and the wind has been violent. Today was much better, but it all starts again tomorrow (already raining).
