Doing the Laundry With Added Cranes

Our washing machine has sprung a leak and won't function so last Monday we went over to SuperU to use their LavBox (laundromat). We had serious laundry accumulation, so it was one big and two small machines full.

While the washing revolved we did a small grocery shop then returned to the LavBox to put the laundry through the dryer.

And we were treated to a flyover of about eighty cranes, heading north to their breeding grounds. They are one of the most anticipated harbingers of spring in the Loire Valley.

When we got home another group of a hundred flew directly over the house.

We had them here for days but I have not seen any in the past week. Quite a sight. Cheers Diane

This was the only day we saw them.

We sometimes us the outdoor laundrette facilities at Intermarché in Descartes. It's excellent and of course open on Sundays so less chance of arriving to find all the machines in use.

I'm finding the LavBox fits in nicely to the schedule. The wash takes about half an hour, then I run stuff through the dryer for about the same time. If I finish shopping before the laundry is done I practice my French reading (currently Les Noels Blancs by Christian Signol -- which I highly recommend for anyone who is an intermediate B1 or B2 French level).
