The other day when I visited my friend Nathalie I took the opportunity to photograph her lavender bush and what it was attracting. If anyone asks me what the number one plant for attracting a wide range of pollinators into the garden I always respond 'lavender'!

A bumble bee, most likely White-tailed Bumble Bee Bombus lucorum (Fr. Bourdon des forêts).
The lavender bush.
Gold-fringed Mason Bee Osmia aurulenta.
Meadow Brown butterfly Maniola jurtina (Fr. Le Myrtil).
Large White butterfly Pieris brassicae (Fr. La Pieride du Chou).
Violet Carpenter Bee Xylocopa violacea (Fr. Abeille charpentière).
