Architectural Details of Preuilly VI

The butcher's shop.

I love this galvanised hopper on the downpipe of this building. I would guess it dates from the first half of the 20th century. It is on the back of a building which faces a street both back and front.

I don't know what the original function of this house was, but the architectural detail is striking (if a bit clunky).

That third photo: have you ever seen the big door open? Is there a courtyard in there? If you know the address, you might be able to see inside with Google Earth or Géoportail.fr.

On the third photo, given the size of the porte cochère that structure might have been a carriage house.
