A Chateau Fest

Chateaux are what people mainly come to see in the Loire Valley, so here is a selection. Which ones have you visited?

Amboise.

Chaumont.

Chenonceau.

Candé.

Fougères-sur-Bièvre.

Montrichard.

Ussé.

Villandry.

Well, I've been to France several times but unfortunately not to the Loire Valley; however, if I had to choose one in which to live, it would be Cande because it seems less austere than the others. Is that where the amazing blue bathroom is to be found?
That said, I would like to spend hours wandering around the gardens at Villandry.

Even though I've seen, not visited, most of them, the one I know best is Fougères-sur-Bièvre. The first time I was there more than six decades ago, I had the whole thing to myself. Not a soul in sight. So I was able to go around and up and down to my heart's content.

We like Candé for that reason too. You can quite see why the Bedeaux bought it. The rooms are a nice size and every window has a fantastic view. And yes, it is where the blue bathroom is. I've added a link.

Even today you can go there and be the only visitor (or one of only about half a dozen people at most!)
