On Sunday 21 January I joined the local branch of the French Federation of Hikers (FFR) on a 5.5 kilometre walk around le Grand Pressigny, taking an hour and a half with a few photo stops and a brief rest at the top of a hill. It was cold, wet, windy and foggy. Luckily the walk was followed by galettes des rois, cider and contre peteries (French word games like Spoonerisms) in the Salle des Assos (club room).
After some discussion about the weather and cancelling, we set off.
Walking past the Museum of Prehistory.
The old entrance to the Chateau du Grand Pressigny.
Holiday accommodation near the chateau, overlooking the village. It looks nice and gets good reviews. https://www.maisondhotesduchateau.fr/
Behind all these brambles is a former troglodyte cave.
