Over-heated Possum

Photographed by Susan from Loire Valley Time Travel. https://tourtheloire.com
A Common Brushtail Possum Trichosurus vulpecula in my father's woodshed. It was very hot when I photographed her and I think she may have had a baby in the pouch, hence the undignified pose. This species of possum is very widespread in Australia and the marsupial most likely to be seen by people. They have adapted well to urban life, often moving into the roofspaces of houses. The latest antic of the resident possums at my father's is that they have eaten his nice lush parsley plants right down to the ground. He has bought a new pot of parsley and put it in the possum trap -- the one place he can be sure they won't go. So far so good.
