Chateau des Repenellieres

Chateau des Repénellières.

The 19th century Chateau des Repénellières was the home of the Mayor of Ligueil during Napoleon III's Second Empire (1852 - 1870).

Vine hut (Fr. cabane de vigne).

The vines are long gone from the estate, but this very posh vine workers hut remains. It is right on the roadside at the intersection of the D212 and the D59.

We are very familiar with that particular vine workers' hut as it's on our usual route to Loches. It underwent a refurb not many years ago I think. Apart from the presumed lack of bathroom facilities it looks like a comfortable place to stay the night. We have stayed in smaller holiday chalets in previous years!

Yes, if only it wasn't so close to the road!
