At the end of September our cramped corner store / minimart moved into new premises that offered twice the floor space. It looks fantastic, a proper little supermarket, with more or less everything you could want on the shelves. After months of building works to take out the old bakery and refurbish the interior it is now open and a great success. There is a constant stream of customers popping in and if Karim and Valérie don't have it, they can usually get it.

Not only has the shop moved across, but the family live above in the large house facing rue Chaumont-Patin. Access at the back for the garage and storage is off rue Saint Pierre.

Fabulous selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. Most of the veggies come from the local organic market garden on the edge of town.

Looks great and should do well. It must be a funny shape inside at some point? The shelves are all in line with the tiles except for the first photograph?
I should imagine all buildings here are a funny shape. The cabinets in the first photo run parallel to the street. The interior space is a sort of T shape.
Glad for you to have a supérette near you. There has been one near my place in Paris for many decades. They were called épiceries at the time. Convenience stores are very convenient, no?
There is no question that we could survive perfectly well in Preuilly without ever going to the out of town supermarkets. We have baker, butcher, charcutier and Karim's, plus the farmers market.
it amazes me how much the small shops can fit into those stores, I could always find what I was looking for.
