Apostle Bird

Photograph Susan Walter. Tour the Loire Valley with a classic car and a private guide.
Flocks of Apostle Birds Struthidea cinerea were one of the companions of my youth. Known as Apostle Birds because they live in family groups, supposedly of about a dozen, but often of many more. They bustle about on foraging missions in the bush, chattering to one another constantly.
