Nufenen Pass

For anyone who likes corners (or views), this road is a must.

The Nufenen Pass is the highest paved road fully within Switzerland and was opened in 1969. If you're in the area it would be a crime to miss it. The mad lady in a box took us over the pass unbidden, proving that sometimes she is a genius because it was just the kind of road I was looking for.

We drove up on a clear, sunny day and were just blown away by the views. When you get to the actual pass there is cafe, gift shop and bus stop (for the Post Bus). The main mountains you can see are the Bernese Alps (top photo) with Finsteraarhorn at 4,272 metres the highest of the mountains.

As usual, I have made a Google Earth movie.
