You Can't Escape Them!

Last year we wrote about discovering the Impasse du Faubourg Saint-Pierre in Beaulieu-lès-Loches. We happened to be up there again last month with some clients, when I took this photo of a door with a cute heart shaped cutout in its shutter. The heart shaped hole must be traditional around these parts because you see them quite often here, including the shutters at l'Image in Preuilly sur Claise.

And that white thing lodged in the cutout? That's a request from the electricity company for a meter reading.

The shutters on our house all had the heart shaped cutout. The only ones left hanging now are on the big living room doors. They face east and at certain times of the spring and fall, we get 4 heart-shaped patches of sun in the room.
