Peering into Dark Corners

We wrote on Tuesday about the Fontaine St Mandé in Ferrière-Larçon, which we only discovered on our second walk around the village.

Likewise, this interesting little troglo is something we had not looked at before despite having driven past dozens of times. We have probably seen it without noticing, but in our defence it is on quite a tricky little corner which incoming traffic like to take in the middle of the road, thus dragging our attention away from the passing scenery.

From the road it's just a little dark patch under a large fig tree, but walking past you become aware that something lurks within.

I don't know when someone last lived here, but it is quite an atmospheric little reminder of days gone.
