Things to do in and around Preuilly in May

May and June are the best months for European Beaver watching on the banks of the Loire. Dusk at this time of year is your only real chance to see the animal itself out and about. There is on average one beaver family every kilometre on the Loire River, but they are nocturnal and rarely seen. Mostly you will have to content yourself with signs such as gnawed tree trunks and footprints in the mud.

The strawberries are coming.
Saturday 14 - Shanna Waterstown at La Roche Posay.

Talking of events - Have you been to the JeanD'Arc festival in Orlean during May. We are thinking of combining the Festival in Sue's B-day trip next year.

Leon. We've never been there - so far, for us, May has always been a chaotic month - andn it looks like continuing that way!

What kind of bird is perched on that bale of hay?

It's a buzzard, waiting for something made of meat to run out of the bale.

Sometimes you get fields where every bale seems to have its own buzzard or crow.
