Some more architectural detail from Azay-le-Rideau. These putti* are under each of the ceiling ribs as they come down the wall to just above eye level. These ones are in the kitchen area.

*strictly speaking, the top one is not a putto, and I'm not sure what he represents.

They are wonderful. Maybe the first putto is fattening a goose?
I'm still a few posts back, wondering where your Roman arch is located. Perhaps there is a local minister of culture or of tourism in Preuilly that might know?
Why is the first one not a putto? Absence of wings?
And word verification is "gests." Appropriate, as in, guests, as in kitchen and food.
