Susan, Those photos are fabulous! Were they taken in your orchard/garden?
Wonderful photos. My lavender looks much the same covered with all sorts of insects. Diane
Wonderful post,Susan. Particularly
liked the Bee Hawkmoth. Rather
like a cartoon figure.
Martine: No, all these were taken either at Montpoupon or la Corroirie.
Sheila: I know what you mean :-)
Nice to see a Painted Lady.... I h'aint seen one yet!
Thank you for this post and guess what? this morning we saw two of the swallow tailed butterflies in our garden at Le Petit-Pressigny. If I hadn't read your post, I wouldn't have been able to identify them!
Very nice, indeed. My lavender is dead (second year in a row), but there is something liking my 'sauge ananas'.
Do you have an idea what it can be? It's eating all my leaves :(
Gaynor: Glad to have been of help :-)
Katarina: Your Pineapple Sage muncher is a bush cricket. I've lost the small lavender plants I put in the garden and the potager, but the ones in pots on the front court thrive. I can't work it out.
PS Tim: They are around, but not in such great numbers as last year.
Ahha! That might explain it. Had both the Silver-washed and Queen of Spain Frits on the Buddleia this afternoon.... along with Broad Bordered Bee and Hummmmmming Bird Hawkmoths... the BBB flew past me and the noise from the wings was incredibubbly loud for such a small creature.
