Just about everyone has a Wisteria in the Loire Valley. They are frequently trained in impossible looking stretches across the front of buildings in the same way vines are.
They are one of the flowering plants that make May in the Loire such a joy. Scented and delicately coloured, they suit the French gardener's sensibility - they can be pruned hard and trained into civilised behaviour and they have a brief but stunning flowering period.Susan
