Short-leaved Stonecrop Sedum brevifolium (Fr. Orpin à feuilles courtes) is the smallest of the stonecrop species, native to the mountains of southern Europe. I photographed this one in the Haute Pyrénées when we were on holiday there in July 2021.
The leaves are nearly spherical and the plant only grows to about 5 cm high, on slate, including scree.

In my mind, Orpin flowers are yellow. These ones are a very pale something!
chm: Well there are several species, and some do have bright yellow flowers.
What's the advantage to nearly spherical leaves?
Carolyn: I don't know I'm afraid. Jolly useful for identifying the species though :-)
They look quite good against the stone and lichens. At least I think those are lichens.......
