Happy New Year 2021

And let's hope we have a less interesting year than 2020!

Last year there was no knock on the door. No opening the door to see young, hopeful faces with a copy of the Pompiers' calendar for the coming year. Instead of the Young Pompiers door knocking, a copy of the calendar was put in our letterbox, together with a donation slip to be dropped off together with a cheque.

We don't use the calendar, but we always buy it. Support your local rescue service.

Yes we always used to buy one for the same reason and you never knew if you might need them to turn out. And our next door neighbour Antony was a Pompier although on the health side.

I liked the way they always sent the nicer looking pompiers to supply the calendars. Who can resist a handsome guy or girl in a uniform when they're asking for donations?!

I meant to add that of course we're not usually chez nous at the time of year when this happens these days, more's the pity!

I hope they get as healthy a response from this method.

I always asked if the young man on the doorstep were pictured in the calendar. A few years ago they often had a page with their shirts off, now I think it's a bit more PC!
Probably thought 'daft old English biddy!'

Same for me. My local guys are so embarrassed when I do it!

Me too. I think they will.

And to you too.

Yes, all our guys are volunteers, so we like to support them.

In small communities I think the fact that you know their Mum has quite a lot of influence on donations too.
