A Sad Australia Day


After bushfires have killed an estimated billion wild vertebrates in Australia I thought an appropriate Australia Day post would be to publish some of our photo archive of Australian native fauna.

Just about every bar in NZ has a fundraising jar to help and some had Australia Day events as fundraisers. We were up at theFranz Josef glacier yesterday and the yellow/orange tinge is caused by smoke from the fires.
Tragic for those affected, the environment, the wildlife and communities suffering.

It's really awful, and I'm glad I'm not in the position of having to find out how good my insurance company really is now.
