Branched Gentian

Photograph Susan Walter. Tour the Loire Valley with a classic car and a private guide.

Branched Gentian Gentiana ramosa, photographed on Saaseralp at nearly 2000 metres above sea level. A common gentian of the flinty Lepontine Alps (between Switzerland and Italy), which as far as I can tell sometimes has four petals, sometimes five.

I always loved walking in the Pyrenees in the spring. So many hidden treasures!

Yes I can imagine. I've never had the opportunity to do it.
