A little low growing Alpenrose bush.
On the side of Saaser Alp at 1940 metres above sea level I found lots of Alpenrose Rhododendron ferrugineum. The plant makes small low growing bushes tucked in around rocks and shallow depressions in the mountain side just above the tree line. I was too late for the pink flowers, which had finished to leave rusty swelling seed capsules.

I loved walking in the Pyrenees when we lived in Andorra. This time of year there were wild tulips, rhododendron, grandalia... so many gorgeous little flowers
