Architectural Details of Preuilly VI

The butcher's shop.

I love this galvanised hopper on the downpipe of this building. I would guess it dates from the first half of the 20th century. It is on the back of a building which faces a street both back and front.

I don't know what the original function of this house was, but the architectural detail is striking (if a bit clunky).

That third photo: have you ever seen the big door open? Is there a courtyard in there? If you know the address, you might be able to see inside with Google Earth or GĂ©oportail.fr.

On the third photo, given the size of the porte cochère that structure might have been a carriage house.
