Architectural Details of Preuilly IX

All these photos are of the Abbey.

Side door with a mixture of architectural styles surrounding it.

A window with much more homogeneous surrounds.

A blind clerestorey arcade, with a creepy little character on the left hand capital.

The Romanesque style is definitively my favorite.

I didn't say I didn't like Flamboyant Gothic or what is called modern architecture. :—)

What I definitively don't like are those improved pastiches the, mid to late, 19e century is most famous for!

Yes, 19C fiddling with old buildings can be frustrating. A 19C new build where the architect was channelling the 15C can be a real joy though.
