This photo was taken on the 2nd February 2012 when it was -15c in Preuilly sur Claise: that's 51 degrees colder than it has been lately.

Even though I hate snow and cold, I must admit this is a beautiful photo. The current heat wave reminds me of my beloved desert of Southern California!
That period of really cold weather in Feb. 2012 was the polar opposite of the weather we've had for the past week or two. I remember it, but not fondly.
It was really beautiful, and for me totally made up for the cold. Certainly better than the endless dreary wet that we've had sometimes.
30+ is a bit hot for me too, but I quite enjoy it as a brief change. I really like having days where I don't have to keep adding or taking off clothing, where I can get up, get dressed and stay in the same clothes all day till bedtime and don't have to lug a cardy around everywhere.
I didn't think I liked the cold, but I remember this period with great fondness. A layer of snow makes all the difference.
