The LavBox

Long time readers may recall our enthusiastic interest in the drive through laundromat at the supermarket at Azay le Rideau. Well, I am thrilled to announce that we have an even more sophisticated facility even closer to home now.

Meet the LavBox at SuperU just outside la Roche Posay!
Brilliant or what, eh?!!

Descartes SuperU has sprouted one, too!

Tim: They must be the latest thing. They are a really good idea.

No LavBox sightings in the Saint-Aignan area so far. The first summer we lived here, before our washing machine got delivered and hooked up, I asked the woman behind the counter in a Saint-Aignan boulangerie where I could find a laverie automatique. She told me to go to SuperU. I said I'd never noticed any laverie there. "I frequently get my car washed there," she told me, as if I must be blind or crazy. When I explained that I needed to wash clothes, she said she'd never seen a laundromat in the Saint-Aignan area. Maybe in Blois or Tours... I had to wash clothes out by hand a few times that summer.

Susan and Simon, I'm still having trouble with the comment preview feature on your blog. It doesn't work right on my laptop. I just tried it on Walt's desktop computer, and it doesn't work there either.

Last time we were in La Roche Posay there were two people using the LavBox. Very useful to have access to a machine big enough to wash a quilt. P.

Ken: Good story.

Re the preview -- is it not word wrapping? or is it some other problem?

PG: My machine will do a quilt no problem, but lots of machines won't. For big stuff like curtains the LavBox would be good too. Simon reckons they are for washing drop sheets!

Right, not word wrapping. Makes it fairly worthless. Does it work on your computer?

Susan said...

Ken: Nope. And I've got no idea how to fix it. I'll try to do so at some stage, but can't promise anything.

I clocked the title and immediately thought ..a thunderbox...then came to my senses.

HD: I didn't make the connection when I took the photo, but I did when I wrote the post (but was having a rare moment of refinement obviously, by not mentioning it...:-)

Susan, I thought maybe Simon would know how to tinker with the blog template. I certainly don't know how.

Susan said...

Ken: I think it has to do with us using a customised template. There is a piece of html that consequently doesn't work. Simon might be able to identify it and insert it in the right place.

Ken: Simon can't figure it out either. It only does it on our netbook thingy, not on the desktop computers. It does it on our blog, but not on yours. I'm afraid you are just going to have to live with it, at least for the time being.
