Bursting (River) Banks

 The Claise at the boat ramp in Preuilly, with the island made by the foundations of the 'Roman' bridge on the left and the weir for the Moulin de Chanvre downstream (above, photographed on 17 December); the Vienne at Nouâtre (below, photographed on 28 December). All the rivers are very full due to all the rain, but apparently the levels are stable. There is a lot of standing water in fields and the young wheat crop is struggling.
